"How can you buy or sell the sky, the warmth of the land?
The idea is strange to us.
If we do not own the freshness of the air
and the sparkle of the water,
how can you buy them?.‭"

Based on a version of the speech edited by Ted Perry in 1972.

The TalkShop's Mission..2

..Contd from the previous page.

For someone to whom trusting other people does not come easily, these words may seem absurd. Yet it only requires a little thought to discover that successful business cannot be done alone. All it takes is to recognise that other people matter, find out who these all-important people are, and see how one can build strong relationships with them. The mission of the Talk Shop is to assist in nurturing these relationships.

Perhaps the best statement of how things are fundamentally connected is the speech attributed to Chief Seattle,  reproduced here (.pdf). Great leaders understand that it is not their personal power that matters, but the power from their place as guardians of  a  greater trust.
